Fitting guide
An evening in the garage.
Bracket, harness, trigger, aim. Here is the whole job in order — most owners say it took them an hour or two.
Installation manual (PDF)- 01
Pick the spot, then the bracket
Under the number plate with the EU-plate bracket, in the grille, or on a bull bar with a tube mount. The 9110 has a mounting foot with a vibration pad and takes a stabilizer bar.
- 02
Use the relay harness
Run the Pro Serie relay harness from the battery: red to +, black to the chassis, the fused relay next to the battery. The light's DTP connector clicks straight into it.
- 03
Take the trigger from the high beam
The harness's thin trigger wire taps the car's high-beam feed, so the light follows your stalk. On a halogen car that is one connector.
- 04
LED headlights or CAN bus? Use XBB
Newer cars switch the high beam over the CAN bus. Plug the XBB Dongle into the OBD port and the PowerUnit relay into the Dualrelay harness: it reads the high-beam signal wirelessly, no cutting into looms.
- 05
Aim it
On a flat stretch at night, adjust the light so the top edge of the beam sits level with the car's own high beam. Tighten the stabilizer bars so it stays there on gravel.
- 06
It is not road legal
The 9110 is tuned past what E-approval allows. Fit it on a vehicle for forest roads, fields and closed tracks — or on a road car only where local rules allow unlit off-road lights to be fitted but covered.
Keeping it like new
Wash the lens, don't scrape it
Polycarbonate scratches. Soak road salt off with water before wiping, and never use an ice scraper on the lens.
Grease the connector
A dab of dielectric grease on the DTP pins keeps winter out of the connector for years.
Check the bolts after the first week
Brackets settle. One turn on the stabilizer and foot bolts after the first 500 km stops the rattle before it starts.
PowerBoost is for off-road
Road-traffic approval covers the road mode only. Switch to PowerBoost on forest roads and closed tracks.
Owner tips
- Think in threes
One 9110 is a pencil. Three, or two plus a wide bar, give you the width for normal driving on a dark road.
- Spreading stone guard
The 9110 guard in white or yellow widens the beam and protects the lens — most owners fit it.
- Short leads
The cable is 50 cm. Plan for DT extension cables on a wide bumper or a roof bar.
- Gen5 in a Gen4 box
Some packaging still says Gen4 because of a printing error. The lamp inside is Gen5.
Measured, not promised
The numbers from the lab.
Every Purelux is measured in Valostore's light laboratory in Oulu: output, range at 1 and 0.25 lux, power draw and colour temperature. We publish what we measured, even when it is lower than the box.
Measured output is 20 % below the manufacturer's declared figure — and that is the number we publish. Colour temperature 5,616 K measured; range 1,040 m at 1 lux and 2,080 m at 0.25 lux.

Modes · output, range and power — measured
Range is the distance at which the beam still delivers 1 lux (roughly a full moon) or 0.25 lux. Measured at 24 V with a clean lens; full lab curves are available to professional buyers on request.

Why 9110
One job: show you what is a kilometre away.
The 9110 is a spotlight. Reflector optics tuned for its LEDs put the light into a narrow, very long beam — 1,040 metres at one lux from a single lamp, 2,080 metres at a quarter lux. Nothing in its price class comes close, which is why it is the best-selling spotlight in its category and the most reviewed light we make.
Gen5 brought the Dark Edition look and a high-current DTP connector. The aluminium body and a practically unbreakable Lexan lens are sealed to IP68 for the front of an SUV in a Nordic winter.
Because the beam is narrow, owners run three or more, or pair two with a wide bar. A spreading stone guard, in white or yellow, widens the beam when you want both.

From people who fitted one
Owners on the 9110 Unlimited
“Brutal light, super happy. The screws for the stabilizer bars are too short — the only negative, otherwise top performance.”
“Quick delivery and easy to fit. Now you can see a bit further in the dark.”
“A hell of a lot of light for the money. Bought the yellow spreading guards too and I am super happy.”
“Good lamp with a lot of light, but a very narrow beam. With only two lamps the spreading guard is a must.”
“The mounting is sturdier than the competitor's equivalent. I will test the output when the evenings get dark.”
“Still shines far, but with much better spread with the guards. Perhaps a touch green.”
